EU May Provide Preferences for Livestock Production Export to Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2011. It was said by the head of the political and economic department of the European Union Delegation in Moldova Wolfgang Berendt during the inauguration of the Republic Veterinary Diagnosing Center in Chisinau, according to the Ministry of Agriculture’s press release.
He said Moldova may obtain the access to such preferences thanks to the improvement of its diagnostic abilities. According to the Ministry of Agriculture’s data, the cost of the Republican Veterinary Diagnosing Center opening project totaled USD 10 million.
Moldova currently has preferences for export to the EU, without customs payments, of wine, grain crops, sugar, and other production within the fixed quotas. Individual commercial preferences were provided to Moldova on March 1, 2008 to liberalize trade with the EU and to provide preconditions for creating economically favorable environment and for attracting investments.
