OREANDA-NEWS. April 4, 2011. Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 1,439,300 Belarusian rubles (Br) [equivalent to USD 477.3] in February 2011, up 2.1% month-on-month, an official with the National Statistics stated.

In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage went down 0.6% on the month. In January-February 2011, the average wage increased 26.1% on the year in real terms.

The average wage in Minsk reached 1.883 million rubles in February, in the Minsk Region 1.451 million rubles, in the Gomel Region 1.338 million rubles, in the Grodno Region 1.288 million rubles, in the Brest Region 1.28 million rubles, in the Vitebsk Region 1.289 million rubles, and in the Mogilev Region 1.297 million rubles.

In manufacturing, monthly wages averaged 1.573 million rubles, in construction 1.663 million rubles, in transport and telecoms 1.568 million rubles, in agriculture 948,970 rubles, in retail and maintenance companies 1.244 million rubles, in healthcare 1.227 million rubles, in education 1.213 million rubles, in hotels and restaurants 951,700 rubles, in real estate and property lease companies 1.757 million rubles.

In the mining industry, wages averaged 2.062 million rubles, in the processing industry, 1.576 million rubles, and in electricity, gas and water distribution companies 1.49 million rubles.
