OREANDA-NEWS. April 1, 2011. ASTARTA, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, has reached an agreement  oto take under control a complete property complex Savinskiy sugar plant, which is located in the Kharkov region, with a capacity of sugar beet processing at about 2,700 tons per day. After the modernization of the plant it is planned to increase the processing capacity up to 6,000 tons per day.

Savinskiy sugar plant will be rebuilt in order to increase productivity, reduce energy consumption and improve sugar quality.

In 2011 the newly acquired plant will process about 150,000 tons of sugar beet. Also, ASTARTA plans an increase of the existing zone of beet planting up to 10 000 ha.
