Kazakhtelecom Anounces Completing Introduction of iD TV
OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2011. Kazakhtelecom launched iD TV to commercial exploitation in Akmola, West Kazakhstan and Zhambyl oblasts, herewith completing coverage of all territory of the republic with digital television, reported the press-centre of KASE.
For the first time iD TV was launched in Astana in February 2009, after 9 months this service became accessible for Almaty residents and major part of oblast centers: Aktau, Atyrau, Aktobe, Kostanay, Karaganda, Taldykorgan, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shymkent. From June 2010 iD TV appeared in regional centers and settlements lower regional centers. In December 2010 the service became available for residents of Kyzylorda oblast. Thus, during 2009 - 2010 territory of digital broadcasting was expanded to 11 oblasts, and subscribers' base grew to 33,078 subscribers (as of December 31, 2010), 1% among which is occupied by legal entities.
In perspective of further development of iD TV step-by-step expanding of extra possibilities is planned and more integration of the service with internet - services (receiving different information, content placing, generated by users, address advert etc.).
