Kazakhmys Announces Changes in Board of Directors
OREANDA-NEWS. The Kazakhmys Group announces changes in its Board of Directors effective May 13, 2011, after the Annual general shareholders' meeting, reported the press-centre of KASE.
Peter Hickson quits the Board of Directors, with a new independent non-executive director coming in as substitute. Development Director David Munroe also resigns from his position and leaves the Board of Directors; however he will continue to act as the Group's Executive Director on a part-time basis. The candidacy of Eduard Ogai, Chairman of Corporation Kazakhmys' Management Board as Executive Director is supposed to be put up for the Board of Directors' consideration at the forthcoming Annual general shareholders' meeting.
Vladimir Kim, Chairman of the Kazakhmys Group's Board of Directors said: "Chiefs composing the Board of Directors of the Kazakhmys Group possess rich experience in various fields. Our independent directors completely devote themselves to performing their responsibilities. I would like to thank David Munroe and Peter Hickson for their contribution to the Group's development and loyalty to our enterprise. I am happy that we have a chance to further rely on David's experience. Along with that I am quite confident that Eduard will make his own valuable contribution to the work of the Board of Directors and deploy his profound knowledge of Kazakhmys' operations and those of the Group as a whole".
