Tata Power Commissions 120MW Unit 5 at Jojobera TPP

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Sardana, managing director, Tata Power, said, “The commercial operation of Unit 5 at Jojobera marks a significant step towards augmenting power requirements of Tata Steel. I would like to thank our various partners involved in this project. I also take this opportunity to thank the Government of Jharkhand in helping us to achieve this milestone and look forward to their continued support in facilitating our future plans in the state.”
The major equipment suppliers for this project were BHEL (BTG package), HAIL (automation), TPL (switchyard) and MBPL (ash plant). Other partners who participated in this project are TCE (design and engineering), Tarapore & Co (civil works) and Paharpur (cooling tower). The commissioning of Unit 5 at Jojobera further reiterates Tata Power’s strong project management and implementation skills.
The 120MW Unit 5 is an asset of Industrial Energy (IEL), a joint venture between Tata Power and Tata Steel, which was set up to develop new captive power projects to meet the power requirements of Tata Steel.
