OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Belgorod region (Belgorod OFAS Russia) found that “Uralmetkom-Oskol” Ltd. violated Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was initiated upon a petition of “TK Aktiv Nechernozemia” Ltd. that “Uralmetkom-Oskol” Ltd. had fixed unreasonably low prices for purchasing ferrous scraped metals.

“Uralmetkom-Oskol” Ltd. violated the law by abusing its dominant position on the market of purchasing ferrous scraped metals, which resulted in fixing unreasonably different prices for the same goods.

Having investigated the case, the Commission of Belgorod OFAS Russia found that “Uralmetkom-Oskol” Ltd. violated Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” and issued a determination to eliminate the antimonopoly violations.

“The monopolist - “Uralmetkom-Oskol” Ltd. - knowingly exercised discriminatory actions towards “TK Aktiv Nechernozemia” Ltd.”, emphasized the Head of Belgorod OFAS Russia, Mr. Sergey Petrov.
