OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. The First International Forum “Competition and Law” took place. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) was represented by the Head of the Legal Department, Sergey Pouzyrevsky, and two Deputies of the Head of the Department for International Economic Cooperation- Anna Mirochinenko and Andrey Yunak, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Judges, prominent scholars, foreing experts, officers of law firms and representatives of the largest Russian companies attended the Forum.

Participants discussed practical issues of antimonopoly regulation and development of competition in Russia and other countries. Special attention was paid to the state of competition in Russia and abroad: what has been done and what must be done in the legal field; modern trends in antimonopoly regulation, expected changes associated with the “third antimonopoly package”. The conference also analysed the issues of abusing marker dominance by companies and liability of legal entities and officials for violating the antimonopoly law.

According to the Head of the Legal Department, Sergey Pouzyrevsky, this professional dialogue about the place of the antimonopoly law in the system of economic regulation, the goals and objectives of antimonopoly policy is very important, especially in the period of reforming the antimonopoly law and discussing the “third antimonopoly package”.

“All proposals put forward by the participants of the Forum require thorough consideration in the process of preparing changes to the antimonopoly law”, said Sergey Pouzyrevsky.
