OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. Pensions and other social allowances will be indexed by 7.8% starting on April 1 in Moldova. It is stipulating by the draft law on the state social insurance, approved by the Parliament in the first reading.

The Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family of Moldova Valentina Buliga said the amount of the minimal adjusted retirement pension for agricultural workers starting from April 1 will total 570.66 leis (529.37 leis in 2010), and 641 leis (594.62 leis) for the rest of retirement pensioners. The indexed minimal disability pension for the I group invalids will amount to 456.02 leis (423.02 leis), for the II group invalids – 440.36 leis (408.5 leis) and for the third group invalids – 310.08 leis (287.64 leis).

Disability pensions, pensions for the loss of breadwinner, pensions for citizens suffered as a result of the Chernobyl accident will also be increased by 7.8%. The average amount of pensions in Moldova after the compensation is planned to total 900 leis. In 2010, pensions in Moldova were indexed by 4.3%.
