OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. According to the Directorate of Domestic Trade and Consumer Service of KSCA, in Kiev 10 fairs in all districts of the capital had place, where farms and agricultural enterprises production of Kyiv region was presented.

In general, the fairs were attended by manufacturers of Kiev, Vinnitsa, Cherkassy, Chernigov, Poltava, Zhytomyrб and Volyn regions. Overall 1764 vehicles were involved: 464 cars with fruit and vegetables, 381 - with meat, 101 - with fish, 73 - with milk and 745 - with other foodstuffs. 1568.5 tons of different products were sold.

The Chairman of the Kyiv city state administration Olexander Popov noted that, according to monitoring, the products at the fair were sold at prices 10-15% lower than in retail trade network and markets of the city.

According to him, to meet the demand, the Kyiv City State Administration organized the supply of buckwheat to areas by SJSC "Bread of Ukraine" to sell it on the food fairs. So, 20.9 tons of buckwheat were sold at a price of 18.99 UAH per kg. In addition, on the fairs there was the buckwheat, brought direct from manufacturers from the regions of Ukraine. 1.2 tons of such grains were sold. Also plant "Kievmlyn" was selling at fairs the flour, 11.8 tons of flour were sold at a price of 4.52-4.92 UAH.

"It should be noted that these days-off 10 fairs involved a record number of cars. We see stable interest of residents and manufacturers for such activities. In general, 30 tons of buckwheat were brought to the food fairs, only 22 tons of which were sold and 20 tons of flour, 12 tons of which were sold. This shows the lack of rush demand for these products", he explained.
