In order to implement the Decision of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council on Accelerating the Water Conservancy Reform and Development, Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) has recently printed and issued the Notice on Improving Financial Service for the Farmland Water Conservancy Construction. The notice required all ABC branches to effectively grant more credit to the construction of farmland water conservancy projects, maintain their agro-related credit level and ensure that the growth rate of agro-related credit is not lower than the average growth rate of all loans, reported the press-centre of ABC.

ABC will vigorously provide support to the construction of the large-scale national water conservancy projects and large-scale water control infrastructure projects; focus on important areas relevant to the construction of farmland water conservancy projects to support the construction of  the river management and water ecosystem management projects; focus on the development of people`s livelihood water conservancy, the priority of reform and development of water conservancy to support the construction of rural portable water projects; focus on the weakest link of farmland water conservancy projects to support the construction of small-sized farmland water conservancy projects.

In order to maintain its credit support to farmland water conservancy projects, ABC will further improve relevant service ability. ABC will arrange the preferential credit line to water conservancy projects, especially farmland water conservancy projects. Furthermore, ABC will accelerate credit product innovation, improve credit management system, optimize credit approval process and innovate on credit management mode based on the features of credit demand of farmland water conservancy projects. And ABC will strive to establish the mechanism for risk diversification, transfer and compensation, manage and prevent risks effectively and strengthen the information exchange with water conservancy and agricultural departments to establish a top-down bank-government cooperation system and effectively provide financial services.

Looking into the future, ABC will launch specialized marketing campaigns and develop dedicated financial service plans to promote farmland water conservancy projects.
