OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2011. Belarus’ farm output increased 5.6% on the year in January-February 2011 to 3.069 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee stated.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 4.1% on the year in January-February to 251,600 tonnes, milk output rose 3.8% to 918,500 tonnes, and egg output went up 8.8% to 561.7 million units.

Sales proceeds increased 41.6% on the year in January to 1.292 trillion rubles.

Sales profit rose 170% to 106.2 billion rubles.

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 152.2 billion rubles in January 2011, up 116% on the year.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 10.1% in January 2011, up from 5.2% in January 2010, and sales margin reached 8.2%, up from 4.4%

In January 2011, farms’ net loss reached 12.8 billion rubles, up 31.2% year-on-year.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2.237 trillion rubles as of February 1, 2011, 18.3% of all payables.
