OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2011. Shutdown of ORLEN Lietuva Refinery (Mazeikiai) for the planned two-week turnaround of process units and equipment is scheduled. Customers will be supplied with fuel from the previously accumulated stocks, reported the press-centre of Lietuva Refinery.

The shutdown is performed in order to carry out necessary conservation and maintenance works.
The previous one took place in March 2010.  The turnaround shall include preventive inspection of Refinery units, pipelines as well as their modernization and engineering modifications.

‘Preventive maintenance, which is also required by legislation, enables ensuring reliable Refinery operations and best quality products. With a view to meet our customer expectations we have accumulated sufficient fuel stocks in advance to continue uninterruptable fuel supply during the turnaround’, says Viktoras Vasilavicius, Deputy General Director for Operations.

Maintenance works will be performed by OL‘s personel and 41 contracting companies supporting the Refinery with this project. In total, approximately two thousand people will be engaged in the process.
