OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2011. Ryanair, today (25th Mar) advised that it has extended the duration of its Trapani flights switch to/from Palermo Airport until at least Thursday 31st March (inclusive) as Trapani Airport remains closed due to the ongoing air force’s action in Libya.

Ryanair passengers affected by these unavoidable airport changes have been contacted by Ryanair and are requested to report to Palermo Airport for their flights, which will operate at their original scheduled times.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:

 
“Ryanair apologises to passengers for any inconvenience caused by the Italian Air Force’s decision to close Trapani Airport to civilian aircraft.  Passengers booked to travel to/from Trapani until at least the 31st March should report to Palermo Airport for their flights.
Ryanair has contacted all affected passengers by email and SMS to inform them of their flight change, which is outside our control.”
OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2011. Russia has banned food imports from six Japanese prefectures. The country’s chief epidemiologist and head of the Consumer Rights Protection Service broke the news on Thursday after high levels of radioactive substances were discovered in food and water in Japan.
Russian air companies have been prohibited from stocking up on food and water in Tokyo. Planes and ships arriving from Japan undergo a thorough radiation check. Mr. Onishchenko confirmed that radiation levels in the air and coastal waters in Russia’s far-eastern Maritime region were normal.
