NEC's operations including its manufacturing facilities, partners and transportation are affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck the northern region of Japan on March 11 2011.

NEC has been devoting its full attention to restoration of the operations. As a result, facilities in the affected area re-started their manufacturing operations on March 23 2011.

As a result, NEC has reluctantly decided to pay no dividend for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011.

NEC is evaluating the financial effects caused by the earthquake to its financial forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011.In the event that a significant effect is forecasted, NEC will disclose the relevant information as early as possible.
