Industrial Production Increased 9,8% in Moldova in January
OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2011. These are the data of the National Statistics Office, which, according to the new methodology of the industrial output index calculation doesn’t provide the cost parameters of the production output.
The industrial production growth in this period resulted from the increase of production volumes in the extracting industry – 3.9 times and in the processing industry – 19.4%. At the same time, generation and distribution of electric and heating energy reduced 5.8%. According to the official statistics, production of foodstuffs and beverages in January 2011 increased 6.9%.
A considerable growth is reported in the metallurgic industry – 3.2 times, enterprises producing machines and equipment – 1.9 times, leather and shoes – 1.7 times. Enterprises of the chemical industry saw the 44.7% growth of output, enterprises producing machines and electric equipment – 41.7%, plastic goods – 34.1%, other non-metal mineral products – 28.7%, paper and cardboard – 24.4%, wood and wooden items – 22.9%, clothes – 21.7%, furniture – 20.2%.
At the same time, production of vegetable oils reduced by 16.3%, tobacco products – 11%, textile production – 7.9%. The reduction in production and distribution of electric power was 7.1%, steam and hot water supply – by 4.4%.
