Korean Business Interested in Nakhodka
OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2011. Official delegation of businessmen from South Korean city of Donghae made a visit to Nakhodka city district. The main goal of this visit is a widening of trade and economic cooperation with Russian partners.
Official delegation of businessmen was headed by the honorary resident of Nakhodka, ex-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Donghae Mr. CHOI Kyung Soon. It is worth noting that he did a great deal for the establishment of close friendly relations between two twin-cities. For example, meetings between representatives of business circles and annual exchanges of children delegations between both sides became traditional ones thanks to him. As a result, in 1998 Mr. CHOI Kyung Soon was conferred the title of the honorary resident of Nakhodka for that.
Mr. CHOI Kyung Soon started his visit with attendance of the City Hall where he met with the first deputy Head of Nakhodka city administration Boris GLADKIH, aide to the Head of Nakhodka on international relations Irina SCHERBINA and chief of the city administration’s Division of Economy Ludmila ZAGORODNYUK. Both sides exchanged the opinions on present situation and perspectives of mutual relations between twin-cities. Businessmen expressed interest in implementation of joint projects (with Russian partners) in the sphere of the fishing industry.
Boris GLADKIH, in his turn, noted long-standing economic relations between Nakhodka and Donghae. He also said about readiness of local authorities to consider offers related to attracting additional investments in local economy.
After that, Korean businessmen met with chairman of the city duma Mikhail PILIPENKO and visited the fishing enterprise "Tikhy Okean (Pacific Ocean) ".
