OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2011. AUTOBACS SEVEN Co., Ltd.(Representative Director and CEO: Setsuo Wakuda) offered its sincere condolences to all those affected by the devastating Tohoku Pacific Offshore Earthquake on March 11.

In regard to the situation of the AUTOBACS SEVEN Group, the following information has been confirmed after the previous release dated March 14.


1. Situation of Damage(as of March 23):

1) Employee’s safety
There were no report concerning significant injuries or casualties among our Group employees including franchisees. Safety confirmation of our employees’ families is continued with all efforts.

2) Store damage situation and recovery process
29 stores in the Tohoku and Kanto areas suspended their operation due to the damage in stores (merchandises falling off the shelves and such) and buildings.
As of March 23, 2011, seven stores are still unable to operate but nine have reopened its stores and 13 have restarted limited operation through their recovering efforts.

1. Stores with no plans of reopening: 5 stores severely damaged by the earthquake and tsunami: 3 stores located near the nuclear power plant and unable to operate: 2 stores
2. Stores scheduled for reopening within a few months: 2 stores ready to reopen after repairs done for the damaged equipments: 2 stores

3) Situation of the Eastern Japan Logistics Center
The operation and distribution of the Eastern Japan Logistics Center has been stopped after the earthquake. As of 9:00am March 23, the Company is checking all the equipments and systems, and estimates the recovery would take about two months.
To maintain the distribution capacity in this situation, the Company has decided to enhance the distribution function of its Western Japan Logistics Center (Miki city, Hyogo)

2. Effect on the Company’s financial results:
The damage from the earthquake is currently being examined. In the event that the Company forecasts a substantial effect on its results, that information will be disclosed promptly.
