Moldova Urged CIS to Implement Joint Economic Projects
OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2011. This call to the Commonwealth states was voiced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Moldova Valerii Lazar, speaking in Moscow at the International economic forum of the CIS states “20 Years Together: Cooperation Experience and Prospects”.
He said the country has preferences in trade with the European Union states and prospects of signing of the Agreement on Free Trade with the EU. He stressed that the mutually advantageous cooperation in the framework of the CIS together with the European integration is one of Moldova’s strategic tasks. Moldovan Minister of Economy emphasized that it is this ability to combine these opportunities that will enable not only Moldova, but also the partner states in the East and West to create a constructive and solid basis for cooperation, will enable the country to ensure promotion of the dynamic and consecutive foreign economic policy.
Valerii Lazar told the forum’s participants about the opportunities of economic cooperation with Moldova, noting the changes in the political context of the country’s European Integration taking place recently, according to him, the possibility of signing of the Agreement on Free Trade with the EU, introduction of the new state property privatization formulas, particularly private-public partnership, the law on industrial parks, constant work at enhancement of the investment legislation and facilitation of the registration procedures given the opportunity of implementation of the mutually advantageous economic projects.
Valerii Lazar assured that Moldova is ready to discuss any new initiatives and mechanisms of cooperation, aimed to strengthen and modernize the CIS’s economic potential.
