Klaipeda Port Participated in Cruise Shipping Exhibition in Miami
OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2011. National delegation from Lithuania has been participating already for the 8th time in the annual world‘s largest cruise shipping exhibition and conference „Cruise Shipping Miami 2011“ organized in Miami (USA), reported the press-centre of Klaipeda Port.
National delegation from Lithuania participates in the annual world‘s largest cruise shipping exhibition and conference „Cruise Shipping Miami 2011“ organized in Miami (USA) on the 14-17 of March, 2011. The following enterprises from Klaipeda, Klaipeda Port and cruise and business undertakings as SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, the public company Klaipeda Tourism and Culture Centre, companies „Limarko Maritime Agency“, „Klaipedos Meja“, „Krantas Travel“ and „ Klaipeda Ship Repair Yard“ represent Lithuania in their national sector. For over 25 years exhibition “Cruise Shipping Miami” has been attracting thousands of visitors and nearly 1000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries. Topical cruise business issues, including the present-day and the future of cruise shipping, challenges, environmental protection, renovation and development of cruise fleet, ship building and design, services provided on board and technologies in line with services rendered to passengers at cruise terminals and attractiveness of these terminals, are on discussion at the conference that is organized in the framework of exhibition.
This year the national stand of Lithuania will be both traditionally national and updated, highlighting Klaipeda as state of the art and modern port and town. In line exhibition visitors will have the opportunity to learn about innovations in Klaipeda Port cruise services, sightseeing itineraries provided to cruise passengers and infrastructure. As every year delegation members have prepared new, designated to this exhibition editions, souvenirs and national Lithuanian treats.
The key goal of participation in „Cruise Shipping Miami 2011“ is to promote cruise shipping in Klaipeda Port, revealing to cruise lines, travel agencies and potential passengers the attractiveness of Klaipeda region via a full – scale information on new tourism services, Klaipeda Port infrastructure and the system of rebates applied to port dues for cruise vessels.
Under the preliminary data 37 cruise liners are to call the Port of Lithuania in 2011, i.e. a little bit less if to compare with the previous number when 45 cruise ships with 35 201 passengers on board called Klaipeda Port. This year 5 large liners (over 200 metres in length) will call the seaport and two cruise ships will drop the anchor at our coast for the first time: 290 metres in length „Costa Pacifica“ is planning to come 3 times and 133 metres in length „Seabourn Pride“, that has been cruising only in the region of South Eastern Asia to date, is planning to call Klaipeda Seaport 6 times.
