OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2011. IC ROSNO has won the award Tourism Web Project 2010 in the nomination Best Online Tourist Insurance Agency. ROSNO’s online shop won the largest number of votes cast by Mail.Ru users among various websites selling tourist insurance policies online. The awarding ceremony was held on the opening day of the international exhibition MITT Travelling & Tourism, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The laureates were determined by voting of users of the Russian section of the Web and jury consisting of the tourism market experts, among them famous travellers and heads of popular mass media specializing in travel & tourism. ROSNO’s online shop won the largest number of votes cast by Mail.Ru users among various websites selling tourist insurance policies online.

ROSNO has been actively expanding online sales since 2002. After the complete interface redesign performed in 2009, ROSNO’s online shop, along with the company’s corporate website, was once again updated in 2010. The portal’s update was mainly focused on simplicity, functionality and usability for the existing and potential clients. In addition, the products are structured in line with insurants’ needs. For example, to improve convenience for travellers, all necessary products such as ROSNO-Voyager, ROSNO-CIS and Green Card have been combined into a single section.

A ROSNO policy can be purchased online in 64 cities and towns were the company operates. Furthermore, the company’s Moscow-based online shop offers 28 personal insurance products and five corporate insurance products. In the online mode, private clients can conclude such insurance contracts as MOD, OMTPL, VMI, express insurance coverage of apartments and summer houses, travellers’ insurance, etc.Legal entities can insure themselves under such programs as motor insurance, VMI, and property insurance. Each day, ROSNO’s online shop has about 2.5 thousand visitors. In 2010, sales via ROSNO’s online shop grew by over 50% as compared to 2009.

Tourism Web Project 2010 is the first national award where tourism market players are evaluated in terms of applying and developing online technologies. Instead of evaluating the company or business as a whole, this award focuses solely on the convenience and simplicity of technological solutions enabling travellers to purchase their tourist products of choice online. The best projects of the year 2011 were named in 17 nominations: websites of the Russian and foreign airlines, airports, tour operators, tourism agencies, domestic and foreign resorts and hotels, agencies/services conducting online sales of flight tickets and travellers’ insurance policies, tourism applications for social networks, etc.
