OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2011. In early February, PrivatBank received the official congratulations as for winning the Banking "Oscar " - "Bank of the Year" Award, the most prestigious award in the financial world, awarded annually by the British publishing house the Financial Times and its magazine The Banker.

Despite the distance and weather intrigues the bronze statuette of  Brendan Brekan, the founder of the world-famous publishing house Financial Times, reached  Dnipropetrovsk.

The fact that the annual ceremony of the Bank of the Year Awards, which is considered as one of the key events in the financial world, was held at the end of December 2010. It was those days when European airports were closed due to snow and all flights from Kiev to London were canceled. Unexpected weather prevented PrivatBank representatives to get to the award ceremony of the best banks of the year, so the banking "Oscar" had to be delivered to Ukraine by mail. By the way, this is the first such award awarded to the Ukrainian bank. Winners of the Bank of the Year Awards in prior years, as a rule, were awarded with honorary diplomas.

As noted experts of the magazine in their congratulation message to PrivatBank, the best banks all over the world in 2010 were considred not only those that  have kept stable despite the crisis, but those that were able to offer new services to its customers. PrivatBank in spite of the crisis of 2009 kept a vital balance: remained the Ukrainian bank, without attracting foreign investors have kept the scale and sources of funding.

In 2010, PrivatBank was awarded the "Best Bank" title twice: in June in the International Innovation in Banking Technology Awards 2010, conducted by the The Banker magazine, the electronic delivery system LiqPay developed by PrivatBank was recognized the world's best innovation in  cash and treasury technology (Innovation in Cash and Treasury Technology).
