OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2011. Particularly, the suggested list of objects includes: the Cricova and Milesti Mici wineries, Franzeluta (Chisinau), Moldelectrica (Chisinau), Costesti hydroelectric power station, Moldovan Railway, the public enterprise “Bus Stations”, Posta Moldovei, public enterprises Registru, Cadastru, Palatul Republicii, Moldpres Agency, the international exhibition center Moldexpo, the Moldovan government’s shareholding (35.330%) in the joint venture Moldova-gaz, Gara de Nord (85%).

The most part of the list is made up by hospitals, cadastral institutions, register and control enterprises, theaters and others. At the same time, many enterprises which are strategic for the state have been excluded from the list: Northern power grids (Balti), Northern-Western power grids (Dondiuseni), heat and power plant -1 (Chisinau), heat and power plant – 2 (Chisinau), heat and power plant-Nord (Balti), Termocom (Chisinau), Apa-Canal (Chisinau), Moldtranselectro (Chisinau), Moldresurse, Apele Moldovei, Radiocomunicati, the Chisinau International Airport, Marculesti airport, Agroavia airline, Banca de Economii. Air Moldova airline was excluded from the list earlier, together with the Codru hotel which was already privatized.

“We know that this is a very brave list, which may be opposed by other ministries. But we are sure that every asset of the state, which has an inadequate management and fails to prove its economic efficiency, should be privatized”, said Valerii Lazar. The Ministry of Economy intends to discuss in details each asset offered for privatization, to analyze it on the basis of clear criteria, what will enable to plan the privatization process for the next 4-5 years.
