OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2011. In the course of the meeting with Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus leader, Vladimir Putin, Head of Russian government, claimed, that the Russian project of the first Belarus NPP construction will provide the highest level of unit protection.

As the Prime Minister noted, that morning, in connection with the situation in Japanese, where an accident at NPP was caused by an earthquake, he was discussing the problems connected with nuclear industry.

“I gathered the experts with a view to speak about our collaboration on this direction, I mean, the plans for the construction of the nuclear power plant in Belarus. We shall speak about it in a more detailed way”, — Putin said, according to RIA News.

“But I can say at once that the projects we are discussing and are going to realize, are, of course, the most advanced ones, and the level of protection is much higher, even despite the fact that Belarus location zone is not as seismic as the Japanese one”, — the Prime Minister noted.

According to him, Japanese reactors are American reactors of 40 years old.

“We are speaking about new technologies, today we shall discuss all this in particular, on the government level, and I shall tell you as well”, — Putin said.
