Norilsk Nickel to Observe Long-Term Production Development Strategy
OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter – MMC Norilsk Nickel or the Company) informs that the Company’s top management shall hold an extended onsite meeting in Norilsk on March 21 dedicated to the long-term production strategy till 2025 of the Company (Strategy), reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel.
On December 28, 2010, key aspects of the Strategy were presented by the management at the Board of Directors meeting. These principles were approved by the Board and have formed the basis for subsequent elaboration of the Strategy. In course of last several months the Company’s management, in particular – the special Commission for the Strategy Development, has worked over the final version of the document, which is to be officially presented at the Management Board’s meeting in Norilsk, being one of the most important production sites of the Company. It is expected that following the review of the draft of Strategy, it will be considered at one of upcoming meetings of the Board of Directors of MMC Norilsk Nickel.
Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, General Director and Chairman of the Management Board, MMC Norilsk Nickel, “The elaborated Strategy aims at preserving and strengthening the position of the Company as of the lowest cost nickel producers globally. Following the implementation of Strategy within next fifteen years, MMC Norilsk Nickel shall have the opportunity to increase metals production considerably, expand its geographical presence, diversify range of products offered, substantially reduce the negative environmental impact and, most importantly, to increase the production efficiency significantly.
