Sakhalin LNG Project May Secure Extra Shipments to Japan
OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2011. The construction of the third phase of a gas liquefaction plant in the Sakhalin may guarantee additional LNG deliveries to Japan, Russian energy minister, Sergei Shmatko said at a briefing. “We are to offer our partners the exact dates and volumes in the most foreseeable future, and have focused ourselves on this task”, he noted.
The first phase of the Sakhalin LNG plant, which should be brought into operation in 2015, will ensure larger deliveries of energy resources to Japan, Shmatko added. Finally, he recalled the government had requested to speed up the implementation of the Sakhalin 3 project.
