OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2011. Vladivostok Air gave the Yak-40 in the Far-Eastern Aviation Museum in the Arsenyev town.

Understanding the importance of preserving the historical memory of the domestic aircraft samples, the airline management decided to transfer Yak-40 aircraft, tail number 88172, as an exhibit for the Aviation Museum. A flight from Vladivostok to Arsenyev in the historic park was made on 17th February, 2010.

Far-Eastern Aviation Museum — cultural and historical aviation cente established through joint efforts by management of OJSC Arsenyev Aviation Company "Progress" and veterans of the Civil Aviation in Arsenyev town, attracts public attention to aviation and, first of all, young people. Aviation Museum is developed and should become an additional incentive for the development of aviation and technical work and guidance for young people — the next generation of aviation specialists of all profiles, so necessary nowadays in the aviation industry.

Vladivostok Air plane will be in a steady "formation" with such units of aircraft, like planes: Il-14, An-8, Tu-134, MiG-15UTI, Mi-1 and An-74.

It should be noted that this is the second Yak-40, which is put on the historical park in the Primorsky krai. The first one was installed in August 2007 near the Vladivostok Air rest and recreation centre in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Civil Aviation of Primorye.

This year marks 40 years since the first jet mini-liner — Yak-40 appeared in the sky of Primorye. The first technical flight of this aircraft was completed in June 1971 on the route Ozyornye Klychi — Serafimovka village. And since October, the Yak-40 began scheduled flights in the settlement Velikaya Kemah and sat in Edinka, Plastun villages. And even after many years this time-tested "cross-country aircraft" operated in Vladivostok Air. For today "Veteran" of Primorsky air routes carries out the social transportation in remote areas of the region — Kavalerovo and Plastun, which had begun in 1976.

In a short time the airline will replace mini-liner Yak-40 aircraft for the domestic new type one — the An-148. However, we well know and appreciate the undeniable merits of this kind aircraft-slogger, on the wings of which, by and large, rose on the wing and developed Far-Eastern aviation.
