Swire Pacific Offshore Names New Vessel
OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2011. Mrs. Francesca Pratt, wife of Christopher Pratt, Chairman of Swire Pacific Limited, was the Lady Sponsor at the naming of Pacific Champion, the latest addition to the Swire Pacific Offshore fleet. Built at Sekwang Heavy Industries in Ulsan, Korea, Pacific Champion is a new UT786 Clean Design, 16,314 bhp Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel, reported the press-centre of Swire Pacific.
The vessel is also built to Ice C Class and Comfort (V3) notations and is equipped with a 400-tonne line pull winch. Enhanced with Fi-Fi II (Fire-fighting), DP2 (Dynamic Positioning), and Oil Recovery capabilities, this powerful, high-specification vessel is suitable for a variety of offshore tasks, particularly in deepwater and harsh environments and capable of towing the largest vessels in the world. The vessel complements Swire Pacific Offshore's existing fleet of 75 vessels to provide offshore support to oil and gas companies globally.
