Bank of Baku Commences Project ‘Branch of Day’
OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. Azerbaijan’s Bank of Baku has declared expansion of its branch network due to substantial increase in service points one of its strategic objectives.
The Bank reports that its 11 branches render professional banking services to the population in the country’s capital and 5 branches outside of Baku. Bank of Baku values much its customer base. The key to success during work with clients is Bank’s openness, and in this regard this year the Bank is launching a new project - "The branch of the day", within which Bank of Baku will provide detailed information to the customers about the activities of each of its 16 bank branches, celebrate the dates of opening of branches and give corporate gifts to bank customers.
The project started from Bank’s branch “Bakikhanov, which has marked four-year anniversary these days. The branch was established on 6 March 2007. For past four years this branch reached the highest results on service of Baku townships: Bakikhanov, Garachuhur, Sabunchi, Mardakan, Shuvelan, Nardaran, Amirajan, Zira, etc. Branch "Bakikhanov” offers a wide range of banking products and services to individuals and entities: opening of accounts and deposits, granting of consumer loans, payment of public utility services, payment of mobile phone communications Azercell, Bakcell, Nar Mobile, money transfers, order and delivery of all types of plastic cards, currency exchange, payment via Cash-in payment kiosk without any queue.
According to the interbank statistics, in 2010 branch “Bakikhanov”, compared with 15 other branches of Bank of Baku, holds leading positions in:
• the size of granted cash loans
• issue of credit cards
• consumer loan portfolio
• deposit portfolio.
"In 2010 there was rapid development in the activities of Bank of Baku in general and branch" Bakikhanov" in particular. As a result of Branch’s four-year activities, we remained true to the motto of Bank of Baku – “Bank, which is easy in communications” and due to continuous improvement of service levels and expansion of the range of products we have formed a large customer base. Today, more than 50% of our customers are our repeat customers. I think this is a vivid indicator of confidence in us by clients, and we would not like to lose it. We make every effort to meet the needs of our customers and try to improve the quality of services every day, every hour," Branch’s director Zaur Gadirov said.
He added that the main achievement of the Branch, of course, was the trust of customers. This is also reflected in financial performance. As of 21 February 2011 Branch’s deposit portfolio, as compared to last year’s same term, increased by 154.15% up to USD 2,003,511, loan portfolio expanded by 173.74% up to USD 7,998,171, number of customers who have an active consumer credit in the Branch exceeds 10,000, and last year the figure made up 5,562 people. Today, the total number of Branch’ customers exceeds 15,000 people that is almost 2-fold more than financial indicatoes of 2010. “Bakikhanov” branch operates at the address: 4081 Quarter, Genclik Street, Bakikhanov Township, Sabunchu district of Baku city.
