OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. JSC "Aeroflot – Russian Airlines" has summarized its business results for January 2011, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

In January 2011, Aeroflot’s passenger traffic increased by 19.2% in comparison to the similar period of 2010 to attain 894.8 mln passenger-kilometers. The most significant growth as compared to the similar period of 2010 (+24,1%) occurred on international flights where the traffic reached 2,132,300,000 passenger-kilometers. The traffic on domestic flights was 762.5 mln passenger-kilometers, having increased by 7.5% in comparison to January 2010.

The number of uplifted passengers increased by 16.3% to attain 912.700. The number of passengers on international flights increased by 20.2% (+102,600 passengers) to attain 610,500. On domestic flights, 302,200 passengers were uplifted. This amount is 9.2% (+25.500 passengers) higher than that for the similar period of 2010. In December, the occupancy of passenger seats was 71.9%, a 1.0 percentage point growth as compared to the previous year. The commercial load was 56.9%, a 1.3 percentage point growth as compared to the previous year.

The total weight of mail and cargo transported by Aeroflot on cargo aircraft increased by a factor of 3.8 as compared to the similar period of 2010 to attain 2,000,896.6 tons. The ton-kilometer indicator for cargo aircraft increased by a factor of 3.9 as compared to January 2010 to attain 19.900 mln ton-kilometers.
