OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. The Company has elaborated measures to ensure stable operation of the major and auxiliary production to provide for the smooth operation of structural divisions and subsidiaries of TATNEFT in the period of spring floods, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

Standing committees for organization and systematic monitoring of the preparation for the spring floods have been established at the enterprises of TATNEFT Group of Companies. A central committee has also been established for the purpose of monitoring execution of the activities scheduled as well as for the purpose of operational management of the situation.

Annually in the complicated spring conditions the Company pays special attention to the production facilities located in the hard-to-reach areas remote from paved roads, which maintenance of may be complicated due to possible flooding.

Special attention is paid to the operating and decommissioned pipelines and their spot locations in deadlock areas.

The Company arranges snow clean-up and melting water run-off from the substations. Storm drains are being prepared under the local roads and temporary access roads.

Special control measures are being introduced to facilitate implementation of the environmental protection, land use, industrial and fire safety requirements. Laboratory control of major rivers will be tightened during the intensive snow melting period. Works are underway to ensure safe passage of spring flooding waters on Karabash waterworks facility.

The information about the progress at the crude oil production facilities is transferred to the Central Engineering and Technical Service of TATNEFT (TSITS) on a weekly basis. The data on the water level in the reservoir from the date of the water raising commencement as a result of intensive snow melting will be transmitted to TSITS every day.

Emergency response units with necessary stock of resources for rescue and recovery operations are being established at the enterprises for rapid response to possible abnormal situation. Employees of the emergency response units are presented instructions on the operating procedures in emergency situations.
