Electric Power Production in Moldova Up 2,6% in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. The electric power production in Moldova (without Transnistria) in 2010 totaled 888.1 million kilowatt-hour, up 2.6% against 2009. According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency, home production covered 22.7% of the country’s electric power needs last year.
The largest electric power producer in Moldova – the Chisinau heat and power plant-2 - produced 665.4 million kilowatt-hour of electric power in 2010, up 4.1% from 2009. The heat and power plant -1 (Chisinau) produced 82 million kilowatt-hour of electric power, down 34.7 million kilowatt-hour (32.3%) from the previous year.
The remaining two enterprise – heat and power plant – Nord (Balti) and Costesti hydroelectric station exceeded the production of 2009 by 6.7% and 45%, respectively.
