OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. Inflation for the last 12 months – from February 2010 through February 2011 amounted to 5.5%, it was informed at the National Statistics Office. Particularly, food prices in February this year grew 1.1%, prices for non-food products – 0.2%, tariffs for services rendered to the population grew 2.6%.

The biggest growth of prices in February this year among foodstuffs was reported for potato – 14%, grapes – 13%, fresh vegetables – 4.3%. Among non-food products, the biggest growth was seen for winter children’s and women’s shoes – 3.5% each, men’s shirts, building materials – 2.3% each, fuel, jewelry – 1.3% each.

Tariffs for public utilities in February grew 5.1%, including for centralized heating – 21.5%, gas supply – 5.5%, water supply - 3%. Catering services rose in price by 3.5%, hotel services – by 1.8%. At the same time, prices for diet eggs reduced in February this year by 29.2%, pork – 3.4%, spare parts for cars – 0.4%.
