OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2011. Ukraine offers Turkey export of electricity. This told the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov reporters in Istanbul after meeting with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Erdogan.

"With regard to export electricity to Turkey, now we have this opportunity. We have already started negotiations. The proposal is interested the Prime Minister of Turkey and experts of both countries will study in detail the proposals - Mykola Azarov emphasized.

He added that in the future Ukrainian intends to build the third and fourth units at Khmelnitsky NPS: "That we could go to the Turkish market with good, serious prospects.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine informed that native NPS built in seismically safe areas and so such tragedies, as in Japan, for Ukrainian power station do not threaten.

Mykola Azarov noted that the Government will pay considerable attention to the modernization of national nuclear power plants.
