OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2011. A specialized exhibition of wood-working industry EUROBOIS 2011 was held in Lyon, France, at the turn of February. About 330 companies from France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Belgium, and Switzerland have taken part in the exhibition. Karelia was the only region to represent Russia at the exhibition. The leading companies producing woodworking equipment showed advanced technologies, equipment and tools for primary and secondary processing of timber, components and specimen products.

Participation of Karelian companies was co-financed from funds of the regional program of development of small and medium business in Karelia through to 2014 on the account supporting exporting enterprises of the region.

Four companies from Karelia, including Corund producing building materials and insulation veneers on the basis of basalt, Kostomuksha Building Company engaged in logging, wood-working and grout-making, Terem enterprise of timber-frame house construction, and Engineering Center of Fire Robots Technologies have taken part in the exhibition.

Presentation of the Republic of Karelia and Karelian companies that participated in the collective stand was organized within the scope of business program of the exhibition.

Production of Karelian enterprises has caused great interest, more than 60 participants and visitors of the exhibition left their contacts for further cooperation with enterprises of the Republic of Karelia. Within the scope of the exhibition negotiations on cooperation were held successfully with such large companies as Saint-Gobain, Isover, Diotrol.
