The 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015) is a crucial period for the Datong Coal Mine Group to deepen industrial restructuring and to achieve leapfrog development in transformation. During the second session of the third employees' Representative congress held in 2011, the Group assembled its development ideas, set its goals and put forward its industrial layout, mapping out the blueprint for its development during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, reported the press-centre of Datong Coal Mine Group.

Development ideas of the Datong Coal Mine Group during the 12th Five-Year Plan period:
Under the guidance of the concept of scientific development and closely centering on the province's overall plan of transformation, the Datong Coal Mine Group is thoroughly to implement the group's development strategy, transform and upgrade traditional industries, extend multiple coal-related industries, develop and enhance new industries, soundly to develop both coal and coal-related industries boosted by coal production, provide coal cultural tourism service, forming a growth mode of "green mining, circular economy and high-carbon industry, low-carbon technology", make its primary industry, the coal industry stronger, the coal-related industries wider, the enterprise's transformation faster, and the industries development solider, to accelerate the construction of a modern comprehensive energy conglomerates featured by "recycling, low-carbon, green and harmonious", and lay a solid foundation for the future development of the Datong Coal Mine Group.

Development goals of the Datong Coal Mine Group during the 12th Five-Year Plan period:
To create an enterprise with investment and sales revenue both hitting 100 billion yuan RMB (i.e. to invest 100 billion and to increase sales revenue by 100 billion within five years), to double total investment, total assets, sales revenue, profits and employee incomes, and to create a new Datong Coal Mine Group.

Industrial strategic layout of the Datong Coal Mine Group during the 12th Five-Year Plan period:

I. To strengthen coal industry, power industry, coal chemical industry, polysilicon and photovoltaic industry, metallurgical industry and machinery manufacturing industry,

II. To build five circular economic zones,

III. To construct and develop four main coal industry bases,

IV. To carry out three landmark projects, i.e. polysilicon and photovoltaic project, coal-based natural gas project, and project of methanol and extended products,

V. To complete building of seven mines with an annual capacity of 10 million tons of coal,

VI. To construct eight more power projects.
