PM of Ukraine Believes in no Default Scenario
OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2011. The Government managed to solve most problems of national economy. About this said the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in a broadcast program "Test for government" at the First National channel.
According to him, Ukraine is not threatened default. Moreover, the Head of Government noted, the Ukrainian now has a stable position in the world: three times international rating agencies have raised their rating of Ukraine.
Besides, it was managed to recover rate of construction of Euro 2012. Very important, according to Mykola Azarov, the government managed to restore housing. He noted that in January and February this year for the first time in a long time has been fixed gain of commissioned housing. According to him, as a whole in 2010 was put in 1.5 times more dwelling than in 2009. "This is very important for us and it is very significant figure," - noted the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
However, Mykola Azarov noted stable situation in the state treasury: all budget expenditures are financed in full, including the public debt. "The main thing - we made state treasury full. This allows us with confidence to look at all situations, "- he said.
According to the Prime Minister, last year the Government set up grain stocks, particularly of food wheat. "We bought in Agrarian fund 1 million and 300 tons and in the state reserve of more than 260 thousand tons, another words we created a stock of 1.5 million tons of milling wheat. And starting from 2011 we will necessarily create that makes the whole world, including U.S.A. – create strategic stockpiles of the commodity items for which there can be run on a bank, bursts" - Mykola Azarov said.
As the Prime Minister stressed, the Government also managed to solve the problem of decline in internal consumption, which was quite sharp in 2009. "Retail sales were 2010 6% in 2010. This figure indicates that the economy has found momentum for internal development "- the Prime Minister said.
To increase internal consumption made some steps: increased minimum salaries, wages in industry, pensions, established allowances for employees of educational and medical industry and others. "As a result, the average monthly pension approximately increases to 200 USD, and the average salary was increased of around 400 UAH, the number of pensioners who receive pensions less than 800 UAH decreased twice" - Mykola Azarov announced.
"Real incomes of our people has grown by about 10% ... Of course, everyone would like to have his salary increased by 2-3 times, maybe 5 times. But we tell people the truth: we can only increase wages at a rate that our economy grows"- Prime Minister added.
Thus, Mykola Azarov noted that to achieve greater results it is necessary to work hard for a long time: "The indicators of the economy improving, we are optimistic, but we need to overcome very hard and long way of development to reach the parameters that deserve lives of our people".
