OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2011. The Economic Forum organized by the Association for Integration and Cooperation and the National Bank of Poland (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, BGK) has been hosted in the city of Torun (Poland), reported the press-centre of IBA.

As the 1news.az informs referring to the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA), the main topic of the Forum was “Trans-European Communication Systems”.

The aim of the event is to promote economic relations between Polish companies, potential exporters and importers.

Topical problems in Poland and Europe have been discussed during the conference. Particular attention was paid to the Eastern Partnership and international trade exchange. Under the state programme on support of foreign trade BGK was offered to benefit from funding (with the participation of the importer's bank) for import of Polish products and services. The Polish government has determined an amount of about 1.5 billion Euros for realization of aforesaid programme before the end of 2015.

“The Forum also has discussions on the Caucasus, during which Zaur Mahmudov, head of Representative Office of the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) in Germany made his presentation. Forum participants have been provided with the information about economic development of Azerbaijan, analysis of the processes and dynamics of development of country’s banking sector and information about the IBA. Polish side has shown a great interest to our region, in particular, to the possibilities of realization of Polish export to Azerbaijan”, reports say.

IBA Representative outlined features of the Bank in the funding of Polish export to Azerbaijan with insurance coverage of Polish Export Agency (KUKE).

We should note that the Forum is being attended by about a thousand people from 40 countries each year, among them – leading Polish exporters, trade advisers, representatives of departments for facilitation of trade and investment and foreign embassies, foreign banks and companies representatives, including those from Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and the Caucasus, representatives of the BGK and insurance companies.
