OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2011. SOCAR President Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev received Albania's Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mr. Edmond Haxhinasto. He praised intensive development work in Azerbaijan and pointed out importance of energy sector in this development. The Minister emphasized there are ample opportunities for developing cooperation between Albania and Azerbaijan in oil and gas fields.

He also mentioned the important role of SOCAR in implementation of regional projects in Azerbaijan and expressed Albanian companies’ interest in cooperation with SOCAR. In his turn, SOCAR President spoke about the achievements in oil and gas industry. Mr. Edmond Haxhinasto said his country appraises Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project envisaging transportation of natural gas to Europe which is produced from the Caspian region. Besides, he informed on discussions held with producer and transit countries and companies in this direction.

Mr. Abdullayev said Azerbaijan supports South Energy Corridor project and TAP project is considered by his country as well.
