Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council Visits Ashgabat
OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2011. Ronald Nash, Co-Chair of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council, who was on a visit to Turkmenistan, was received at the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The agenda of the talks focused on the issues related to implementation of the bilateral agreements, and an exchange of views on the prospects for Turkmen-British partnerships took place during the meetings. Expressing mutual satisfaction with dynamics of relationships between the two countries built on mutual respect and equality, the meeting participants underscored the need to employ the existing tremendous potential of cooperation more fully and diversify mutually advantageous contacts. The fuel and energy, trade, economic, banking, transport, communications, telecommunications, tourism and other sectors were mentioned as the priority areas of collaboration.
Noting that through the economic reforms implemented on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the favourable investment climate and the conditions conducive to business activities of foreign companies had been created in Turkmenistan, Mr. Ronald Nash focused on the intention of the business circles in the UK to expand on the very promising, dynamically developing Turkmen market.
Also, the Co-Chair of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council will visit Turkmenbashi town, where he will conduct the meetings at the State River and Sea Transport Service, the Committee for the Avaza National Tourism Zone and the Turkmenbashi khyakimlik.
