OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2011. OJSC Belaruskali’s potash fertilizer exports rose 38% on the year in January 2011 to 646,000 tonnes, a source in the administration of the company stated.

The producer also supplied 111,000 tonnes of fertilizers to the domestic market in January.

The increase in exports is attributed to the general revival of the fertilizer market after the global crisis. Fertilizer makers also expect an increase in prices because of the situation on food markets.

In 2010, Belaruskali exported 6.8 million tonnes of potash fertilizers, up from 2.948 million tonnes in 2009. The average price of supplies reached about USD 300 per tonne in 2010.
