OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2011. UTK together with Rostelecom and Megafon provided technical support for direct online broadcasting of the competitions at the Cup of Europe on mountain skiing among men on the federal channel “Rossia 2” and in the Internet network.

Due to modern telecom technologies, TV audience all over the world could watch the final stage of the competitions held in Sochi in the mountain ski resort “Roza Khutor”. UTK assigned communication channels ensuring direct broadcasting of HD-quality TV signals.

Online broadcasting provided an opportunity to watch the competitions using mobile devices – smart phones, communicators, tablet PCs.

President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and top management of the Olympic committee and the Federation of the Mountain skiing visited the event and tested personally online broadcasting of the competitions using mobile devices.

The Cups of Russia and Europe on mountain skiing are very important because they are the first world competitions held in the area of future 2014 Olympic games.

Facing their merger, the companies Rostelecom and UTK has already become a single team, in particular, in respect to the projects in Big Sochi. They provide telecom services for international events.
