OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2011. A delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) took part in a workshop organised by Hungarian Regional Competition Centre of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Budapest, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

FAS Russia takes part in such workshops on a regular basis to exchange experience and obtain the most up-to-date information regarding competition enforcement aboard.

This time the workshop focused on quantitative methods of merger analysis. At the workshop OECD experts presented modern methods of economic analysis applied to control economic concentration. FAS Russia’s experts also shared their experience of economic analysis of the consequences of such transactions.

According to Lesya Davydova, the Head of the FAS Russia’s Department for International Economic Cooperation, FAS Russia actively uses methods of economic analysis but it is essential to update the knowledge about specific features of applying such methods by other competition authorities and keep abreast with the global trends in this field.
