OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2011. TNK-BP and the Government of the Tyumen Region signed Protocol No.2 to the Strategic Cooperation Agreement of October 28, 2009, which stipulated the parameters of cooperation for 2011. The protocol was signed by Vladimir Yakushev, Governor of the Tyumen Region, and German Khan, Executive Director of TNK-BP, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The Strategic Cooperation Agreement is aimed at successful cooperation of the parties and sustainable social and economic development of the Tyumen Region. In particular, this agreement implies continuation of implementation of the investment project “Development of Oil Production in the Tyumen Region by Development of Hard-to-Recover Reserves in Depleted Fields of the Tyumen Region and Hydrocarbon Reserves in the Uvat District and Integration of New Technologies.”

Apart from that, the agreement implies continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties for developing the mineral resource potential of the Tyumen Region and implementation of social, environmental, and tax-related projects.

Development of the Uvat group of fields in south of the Tyumen Region by TNK-BP is grand-scale project implementation of which makes a substantial contribution to industrial development of the region. Several enterprises of the Tyumen Region are already involved into implementation of this project.

Successful implementation of the Uvat project will have a positive impact on the regional budget and population employment level. The tax payments of TNK-BP oil-producing subsidiaries in the Uvat District into budgets of all levels in 2010 exceeded 18 billion rubles.
