OREANDA-NEWS. March 9, 2011. As early as last year an active preparatory work on a brand new cabin of MAZ trucks started. This renovated part of the truck was fitted with some new samples of new technique that were demonstrated at the exhibitions of Minsk Automobile Plant at the end of 2010. The start-up of mass production was planned for this February.

A large cabin with a high rooftop is the most convenient analogue for international and inter-city transportation. The cabin is equipped with two wide (700mm) sleeping berths, a conditioner and an individual air heater to maintain the temperature when the engine is off. The engineering and designer solutions of MAZ trucks cabins do not yield the best world analogues.

The main advantage of the new cabins is a new dashboard and the driver’s workplace. Modern manufacturing technologies of cabin components (such as upholstery, dashboards, seats, etc.) are used for cabin interior renewal. The measures on increasing resistance to corrosion of MAZ cabins are taken. A new engineering design of side bars is being worked out for this purpose. An up-to-date fore cushioning construction will be implemented to improve reliability.

A cabin, as you know, says much about its driver, - the chief engineer of Automobile Press and Bodies Plant Denis Bokun says. In the recent past consumers did not pay much attention to minor disadvantages or external defects of a vehicle but nowadays every buyer values his investments and sets firmer competitive conditions. According to his words, that is the reason why early in 2010 the management of the enterprise made a decision of the necessity of new 6430 family cabins expansion. The top-priority steps were defined, design decisions were worked out and agreed upon promptly, priority of arrangements was marked. All this ensured the expansion of 6430 family frame production up to 70-80 cabins per day.

The guarantee of promising growth is a strategy planning of production modernization. Alongside with the measures improving quality and the image of Minsk Automobile Plant such as increase in new family trucks output, the implementation of two-component enamel painting of cabin frame, Automobile Press and Bodies Plant has already started the fulfillment of its long-term projects. At this rate the areas for site organization of cataphoresis padding of cabin frames have already been freed. Paint drying cells for the spare parts of restyling and truck cabins are being mounted in the painting and metal coating shop.
