The fourth member conference of Chinese steel industry association was held ceremoniously in Beijing GuoYi Hotel, in the meeting, "12th five-year" steel industry development idea was mainly discussed and the council general election was carried out. TISCO Chairman Li Xiaobo made a speech at the meeting introducing TISCO green development practices and "12th five-year" development planning, reported the press-centre of TISCO.

When talking about TISCO green development practices, Mr. Li Xiaobo said, in recent years, by taking idea innovation as guidance, technology innovation and management innovation as support, TISCO insists on the green development, realizing harmonious development between inland steel company and provincial capital city. The main methods of TISCO including the following five aspects:

—To understand the development between steel company and society by harmonious ideas. We think, steel company is one part of the society, which has countless ties with the city where it is. Moving out is not the optimal solution to solve the contradiction between steel company, city and social development, is not, and is even no realistic choice for the less-developed regions, steel enterprises should use the latest achievements of modern science and technology to solve the pollution problems. As the whole society, it must take the development standpoint to recognize and resolve the contradiction between steel company, city, and society. As a steel company, it must consciously take measures, establish higher energy conservation and environmental protection standard, actively increase energy conservation and environmental protection investment at advance, to realize green development; must fulfill the function of steel company to service for cities and society; must strive for excellent environmental performance to return society, and visually and truly show to the public to enhance the understanding and promote harmony. We definitely put forward to insist on the green development road and make energy saving and emission reduction and recycling economy become new development mode, new benefit growth point and competitiveness for TISCO, to construct demonstration company of energy saving and emission reduction and recycling economy in metallurgical industry with full efforts, to build TISCO as a truly urban steel company which can create value, with responsibility, respectability and green development.

—To drive energy conservation and environmental protection of enterprise by independent innovation. Driving by both management innovation and technology innovation, TISCO accelerates the realization of environmental-friendly process equipment and manufacturing process. In the management innovation, by setting the excellence steel companies from home and aboard as examples, TISCO establishes standardization system with green development. Bring the energy-saving environmental protection performance into evaluation of economic responsibility system, TISCO realizes to link together closely with whole process and common economic interests; by implement 4 levels (company, factory, process, equipment) energy index management, TISCO promote the level of energy-saving delicacy management.

In the technology innovation, by always tracking international advanced technology and aiming at the top level, TISCO accelerates the integrated innovation and upgrading of process, technology and equipment, and has built a stainless steel production line which is the world's largest in scale and highest standards in technological equipment. Meanwhile, with investment of 8.2 billion Yuan, and on the basis of independent innovation, TISCO implements 87 pieces of energy-saving emission-cutting and circulation economic projects, by taking the lead in applying and popularizing the world most advanced energy-saving technology at home, realizes the high-efficiency comprehensive utilization of wastewater, waste acid, waste gas, waste residues, excess heat and excess pressure.

TISCO input 500 million Yuan to company environment renovation and greening. At present, the greenbelt in factory area is 39.4%, initially builds a first-class international ecological garden type factory. During "11th five-year plan" period, TISCO had saved standard coal of 1.07 million tons, over fulfilled the 0.85 million tons target ordered by Shanxi and Taiyuan city governments, gaining a green passport for the company.

—To boost the social energy-saving and emission-cutting by high-quality products. Through vigorous implementation of high-quality products strategy and development of high value-added, high-tech content and green environmental stainless steel products, TISCO has formed a high efficiency, energy saving, longevity type products cluster of which stainless steel as the core, including cold rolled silicon steel, high-strength-toughness series of carbon steel. At present, TISCO’s high efficiency, energy saving, longevity type green products account for above 70% of the total steel amount, benefit creation occupies above 85%, domestic market shares of more than 20 varieties rank the first, and more than 30 varieties successful substitute the import, widely applied in national important fields and key projects.

—To meet the practical needs of the city by expanding the function of steel company. With constantly expanding the comprehensive functions of sewage treatment, wastes recycling and other aspects, TISCO effectively meet the practical needs of the city, for example: production access heat recovery, which providing heat source of winter heating for 8 million square meters of residential buildings in Taiyuan City; recycled gas merging into the urban pipeline, which easing gas using tensions for city residents; taking the lead in sewage treatment for residents domestic sewage in north area of Taiyuan by using high-tech; as well as urban industrial waste recycling, such as waste motor vehicle dismantling work has already begun to take shape, comprehensive utilization of urban living garbage and waste tires, plastic, batteries and etc are also gradually implemented, TISCO is striving for creating more value to the city and the society.

—To improve public understanding to enterprise by public display. In order to enhance the public understanding to enterprise, TISCO Taigang Stainless released company sustainable development reports in two consecutive years. This year TISCO will publish Group Company’s sustainable development report as well. Besides inviting the deputies and members of provincial and municipal People’s Congress and People's Political Consultative Conference, experts and scholars, Chinese and foreign journalists, colleges teachers and students to visit TISCO, and at the same time, TISCO held the "Public Open Day" activities, invited more than 3700 citizen into TISCO to experience the development and change of enterprise, by which TISCO won extensive praises and shaped a good enterprise image of "high-quality products base, green steel town, harmonious home".

Li Xiaobo also introduced the overall idea and target of TISCO during “the 12th five-year” period and measures to realize the new development target.

Li Xiaobo’s speech received high praises from the participants of the meeting.
