OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2011. Free access to Internet through Wi-Fi technology is now available in all MTS brand shops all over the territory of Ukraine. All 53 MTS shops, including Service Centers for Corporate Clients, were equipped with special points of access in the quantity ensuring data transfer speed of 2 Mb/sec, reported the press-centre of MTS.
 
Any MTS subscriber, a visitor of a brand shop, while staying within the coverage area of MTS Wi-Fi network and having an access unit fitted up with Wi-Fi adapter (a notebook, pocket PC or smartphone), is able to make use of the service and enjoy its advantages.
 
Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is a technology that utilizes radio frequencies to transfer data of the IEEE 802.11x standard; it is used for establishing wireless networks of access to Internet and for data transfer.
 
Thanks to the Wi-Fi service from MTS you get the possibility to plug into the broadband Internet being at the same time able to freely move within the hotspot coverage area. For this purpose your notebook, pocket PC or smartphone must be equipped with Wi-Fi module or support the Intel Centrino technology. Free connection to Internet is carried out at the speed of up to 2 Mb/sec.
 
MTS wireless network is compatible with the devices of 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11n standard.
