Bank of Moscow Sponsors Student Business Case Championship
OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2011. Within the scope of development of services orientated on a young, active audience, the Bank of Moscow has sponsored the Russian Federation’s biggest independent student’s business case championship Challenge Cup, acting as general sponsor of the case: "Role of a universal bank in creating and developing an International Financial Centre in the Russian Federation".
The case was presented by the Director of the Bank of Moscow State Programme Department Julia Tsvetkova and Deputy Managing Director for Broker Services Dmitriy Kosov at the Economics Faculty at Moscow State University.
The presentation covered the prospects for forming an International Financial Centre in Moscow, analysed the experience of the globally recognised international financial centres in New York, London, Frankfurt and Tokyo. Bank staff answered questions from the students and presented the Bank’s products and services that could be used to find one’s way better among the trends on the stock market and to use financial instruments actively by elaborating one’s own investment strategies.
As Julia Tsvetkova noted: "The youth audience is a key one for the Bank of Moscow, one of the most promising, so it is important for us to offer students services meeting their requirements and interests and to help them make the right choice."
According to Dmitriy Kosov: "Formation of an International Financial Centre is a long-term task; the future cannot be built without taking into account the opinion of those who will live in the future and meet its challenges. For this reason, the Bank has assumed responsibility for developing and promoting the given case among students."
The Bank of Moscow is today working successfully with the younger audience by issuing Students’ Social Cards and offering Web-banking services, and in the near future it plans to launch products developed specially for young people – co-brand credit cards with a function for cash free Metro travel, a special iPhone application, mobile-banking, and other modern financial services.
The social survey held by the international consulting company Universum among Russian students put the Bank of Moscow among the Top-5, in second place among Russian banks in the rating of the most attractive employer companies in Russia.
The Bank of Moscow is actively collaborating with leading Russian higher educational institutions in attracting young specialists. For instance, the Bank invites the best students and graduates of such institutions to participate in a variety of internship programmes and undergo practice in subdivisions of the Bank. An individual plan is drawn up for each intern. During the period of internship, students are given an opportunity to acquaint themselves with the activities of the various subdivisions of the Bank. Participants in the programme are fully-fledged members of the Bank team and have the possibility of subsequently joining its staff, with the broadest opportunities for professional development and career growth.
Besides, twice a year, the Bank awards stipends to the best individual students at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Affairs. In addition to monetary allowances, the Bank of Moscow provides the students with an opportunity to acquire practical experience in the spheres of interest to them.
