All COSL Staff Seconded to Libya Returned to China
OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2011. China Oilfield Services Limited (“COSL”or the “Company”)saw the last batch of staff arrived at the Beijing International Airport, thereby concluding evacuation of all of its 77 staff members seconded to Libya, reported the press-centre of COSL.
Mr. Liu Jian, Vice President of China National Offshore Oil Company and Chairman of COSL received some of the returning staff at the Beijing International Airport and expressed his care and concern to all staff working overseas.
The Company’s staff seconded to Libya exhibited a strong sense of unity during the evacuation process as they dealt with the complex situation and accommodated the Company’s orderly evacuation efforts. They took good care of the operating assets there and exhibited above-average capabilities to respond to emergency situations.
Mr. Li Yong, the Company’s CEO and President, extended his care and concern to all returning staff on behalf of the management and his team. He said:“This is the first time the Company deals with a major international emergency outbreak. The successful return of all Libya-seconded staff to China is attributed to the leadership and coordination by relevant government departments and China National Offshore Oil Company, to the effectiveness of the Company’s emergency procedures and to the emotional well-being and professional caliber the staff possesses. This successful evacuation of all Libya-seconded staff will add depth to the Company’s experience in dealing with incidents of the same kind.”
