OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2011. Ukraine is ready for spring fieldwork. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov announced at a working visit to Kyiv region.

"Stocks of fuel for spring field work is almost set. There is a schedule of deliveries of diesel fuel to all regions, and there are reserves in the State Reserve - I do not see special problems here. We are ready for the spring field work", Mykola Azarov emphasized. He added that the first time in 10 years the Agrarian Fund has 1.5 billion UAH for forward purchase of agricultural products.

"For the first time the Agrarian Fund has 1.5 billion UAH of financial resources which should be directed for forward contracts. We are ready to give our farmers the resources on forward way which are necessary for spring field work", the Prime Minister said. He added that by 2012 the Government would create even greater financial resources that would be used to support agricultural sector.

In addition, the PM informed that the Agrarian Fund has now over a million tons of grain.

"We started 2010 with an empty treasury, with a totally unbalanced structure of sown areas. Now we have everything in order to lay everything we need in reserve and to National Agricultural Fund", Mykola Azarov said. He added that the Government will pay considerable attention to the construction of vegetable stores and wholesale markets of agricultural products and creation of all necessary supplies, which will remove any rush demand for foodstuffs.
